Kinesio Taping

Have You Sustained a Sports Injury? Kinesio Taping Can Help!

Discover How Kinesio Taping Can Get You Back in the Game Today

Have you sustained an injury or condition that affects your everyday life?

If you’re an athlete, Kinesio taping is a great way to get you back in the game. Kinesio taping can help you find the relief you need!

Pain can sometimes be so debilitating that it makes daily tasks more difficult than they used to be.

That’s why at Lycoming Physical Therapy we offer treatments like Kinesio taping to help relieve pain, promote healing, increase strength, improve range of motion, and (most importantly) get you back to living your normal life comfortably!

What should I know about adding Kinesio taping to my treatment plan?

Kinesio taping has helped many of our patients return to a comfortable everyday life without any residual pain or stiffness!

Our Muncy & Montoursville, PA physical therapists know the very best Kinesio therapy treatments to help you achieve optimum results.

At your initial appointment, our physical therapist will conduct a comprehensive assessment, which will help in deciding whether Kinesio taping will be the right choice for your treatment plan.

How can Kinesio taping benefit me?

There are many reasons why Kinesio taping may be useful to you in your healing journey.

These include, but are not limited to:

Decreasing swelling

Injury, surgery, or even simple overuse of a certain part of your body can also result in swelling.

Kinesio taping helps to decrease swelling by limiting the pressure between the skin and the tissues underneath.

This allows any buildup of fluid to travel freely and promotes better movement of the affected area.

Management scar tissue

This is an especially common treatment after an injury, surgery, or another type of trauma has occurred.

Healing from trauma can cause a thick band of scar tissue to form over the affected area, which can inhibit signals of movement.

Kinesio taping can provide a much-needed stretch to the scar tissue, making the signals of movement easier to communicate, and thus increasing your mobility.

Stabilizing joints

Some conditions may make it difficult for joints to stay in place.

Kinesio taping can help stabilize and provide support for these joints, while still allowing them to move around their intended range of motion.

Relieving pain

One of the biggest benefits of Kinesio taping is pain relief.

By blocking pain receptors, your brain doesn’t receive the painful messages from the affected area any longer, and the muscles relax as a result.

This allows for more mobility, quicker healing, and a more comfortable treatment process overall.

What can I expect from Kinesio taping treatments?

Our physical therapist will perform Kinesio taping by placing tape strips on the affected area of your body, as well as any other areas where you may experience pain or stiffness.

Our Muncy & Montoursville, PA physical therapists will implement a variety of exercises and procedures in their treatment plans, based on your specific needs.

Kinesio taping is one of the methods used to improve your mobility and support your muscles, joints, and tendons.

If you think you could benefit from Kinesio taping, please schedule an appointment at Lycoming Physical Therapy today!

What else can Kinesio taping do?

Kinesio taping helps to reset the circuitry in the affected part of your body by correcting any faulty interactions between the skin and the muscles, joints, and tendons below. This results in increased muscle strength and activity.

Kinesio taping also works by blocking any pain receptors that are sent to your brain. If these painful messages are not received, the muscles in the affected area will loosen and the likelihood of spasms will decrease significantly.

Pain constricts the affected area, but if the pain is removed, there will suddenly be more freedom for blood flow and movement.

Get back to doing the activities you love ASAP

At Lycoming Physical Therapy, we’re dedicated to helping you reach your peak physical performance, and we’d love to meet you and create a plan to make that happen.
