Celebrating Thirty Years of Quality Care at Lycoming Physical Therapy
We Couldn’t Have Done It Without You!

For over three decades, Lycoming Physical Therapy has proudly served the north-central Pennsylvania community, with people visiting us from Lycoming, Sullivan, Tioga, Columbia, and Snyder Counties. In fact, over 20,000 patients have walked through our doors, each with a story and a goal. Every single one reminds us why we love what we do.
We have a slogan here in our clinic: “Your Choice for Personal Care and Exceptional Results.” It’s our slogan for a reason, and we stand by that promise of building a treatment around you: your goals, your body, and your recovery. It also means we aim for real results, from less pain to greater independence. We’re honored that so many have made the choice to trust us with their recovery and their health.
Why Your Choice Matters
We always stress that you have a choice in where to receive physical therapy. Many people don’t realize that in most cases, they can decide which clinic they visit. Even if your doctor or insurance provider makes a recommendation, that final decision is yours.
For that reason, we’re proud to have built strong relationships with physicians and specialists across the region, including orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, and pain management doctors. Whether your care team is through UPMC, Geisinger, Hershey, Guthrie, Rothman, or another healthcare institution in the area, we’re committed to seamless communication so you receive the most coordinated care possible.
We also accept most insurance plans, including Geisinger Health Plan, UPMC Health Plan, Highmark, Medicare, and more. Our friendly office staff is available to help you understand your benefits and answer any coverage questions you may have. We want to ensure that financial concerns do not prevent you from continuing your healing journey.
More About Our Personalized Approach
Every person who visits us at Lycoming Physical Therapy receives an individualized evaluation and plan of care. We recognize that no two bodies or injuries are the same, so your treatment shouldn’t be either.
We focus on helping you:
- Reduce pain
- Improve mobility and strength
- Restore function after surgery or injury
- Prevent future problems
Proven Techniques That Help You Move and Feel Better
Our therapists use a range of evidence-based treatments tailored to your specific needs. Here are just a few of the techniques we offer:
Manual Therapy
These hands-on techniques help relieve pain, improve joint movement, and ease muscle tension. We often kick off a session with manual therapy to help prepare your body for more vigorous treatment.
Therapeutic Exercise
The foundation of your program will consist of a structured program of stretches and strengthening exercises tailored to your needs. This approach promotes long-term mobility, balance, and endurance and helps prevent future injuries.
Aquatic Therapy
If you find land-based exercise difficult, we offer a low-impact alternative through our specialized therapy pool. Performing PT exercises in the water reduces the impact on joints as you work to strengthen your muscles.
Vestibular and Balance Training
If you’re experiencing dizziness or vertigo, vestibular therapy targets the body’s balance systems so that you can return to safe, confident movement.
Post-Surgical and Orthopedic Rehabilitation
Whether recovering from knee replacement, shoulder surgery, or spine procedures, our therapists guide patients through every phase of healing. We’ll help you restore mobility, strength, and function, with the ultimate goal of helping to safely return to daily tasks.
Wellness and Prevention Programs
You don’t have to say goodbye just because your formal therapy program has ended! We offer wellness programs that help you continue to work on your progress. From periodic check-ins to guided exercise plans, we provide continued support for lifelong health.

Walk with Comfort. Walk with Confidence.
Walking is one of the most important things we do every day — yet after injury, surgery, or illness, it can become painful or unsteady. That’s why Lycoming Physical Therapy now offers 3D Gait Analysis, a diagnostic tool used to evaluate the way you move.
What Is 3D Gait Analysis?
Unlike traditional gait analysis, which relies on visual assessment, 3D Gait Analysis uses multiple cameras and sensors to track your movement in real time, providing a precise and comprehensive picture of your gait. This allows your physical therapist to evaluate exactly how your body moves as you walk by providing detailed feedback on:
- Step length, balance, and symmetry
- Hip, knee, and ankle motion
- Posture and weight-bearing patterns
- Areas of weakness, stiffness, or compensation
This information helps us create a personalized rehabilitation plan tailored to your body’s unique movement needs.
Who Can Benefit?
3D Gait Analysis can be especially helpful for those who are recovering from hip, knee, foot or back surgery. It can also be beneficial for those who experience pain or fatigue while walking and those with a diagnosis of arthritis, neuropathy or any gait changes due to age or injury. The 3D Gait Analysis system can be helpful in diagnosing potential causes of imbalance, or limping gait patterns. Anyone who has an interest in improving mobility and independence can benefit.
What to Expect During Your Session:
- You’ll walk on a treadmill for a short time while video is recorded.
- The 3D Gait Analysis software analyzes your walking pattern.
- Your physical therapist reviews the findings and develops an individualized plan to improve your gait, strength, and confidence.
Each session provides clear insight into how you move — and what we can do together to help you move better.

Patient Success
“I recently received therapy at Lycoming Physical Therapy. Rob, the owner was my therapist. You can’t find a nicer person to treat you for your therapy. If I need therapy in the future, that will certainly be my first choice. Also thank you to the ladies at the front desk for their excellent cooperation in scheduling.” -William F.

Hosting Thanksgiving Dinner?
Manage Stress with These Tips
We love Thanksgiving at Lycoming Physical Therapy. It’s a time to gather with friends and family, enjoy a great meal, and give thanks for all of the year’s blessings. But we also know the big day can be stressful—especially if you’re hosting.
Here are a few simple tips to stay happy and healthy this Thanksgiving:
- Try some deep breathing exercises. In the thick of cooking five different side dishes and feeling overwhelmed? Try box breathing, a simple technique in which you slowly breathe in and out for 3-4 counts.
- Fix a balanced plate. Rather than stressing about overindulging, just make sure to add some green veggies to your plate alongside the cornbread stuffing and fried turkey.
- Don’t forget your post-meal walk. If you prepped dinner, let someone else take care of the dishes while you take a relaxing stroll around the neighborhood. Relax–you earned it!
